Waiakea Ohana: Meet Coco Ho

Meet Coco Ho–pro surfer, Honolulu native, and Waiakea's newest ambassador. We're so stoked to introduce you to the newest addition to our Ohana and give you a sneak peek into what's in store.

Born and raised in Honolulu, HI, Coco’s heart belongs to the water. Growing up among a family of pro surfers, including legends Michael and Derek Ho, Coco naturally started chasing swells as a keiki at seven years old. Initially, she just wanted to impress her older brother, Mason.

"My brother's one of the most innovative surfers around, and I wanted to be just like him."

However, she quickly became an idol herself. She entered her first competition at nine years old as her brother's surf partner and hasn't stopped shredding since. After qualifying for the Association of Surfing Professionals Women's World Tour at 17, Coco's now working towards building an awarded surf career while inspiring girls to break through barriers and pursue their passions.

Through years of competing and racking up dozens of wins and awards, her love for performing quickly became a catalyst in her love for competition. She embraces a sense of ease in her surfing style and credits that serene approach to her parents.

"When I surf, I keep things natural and graceful and never try to force anything. My mom and dad never wanted to push me into competing, and that's probably a big part of the reason why I love the sport so much. They just sat back and let me fall in love with surfing on my own."

Her love of the ocean and Hawaii translates into her passion for sustainability and keeping our waters clean, making her the perfect person to team up with. From working together on the launch of the Hana Hou bottle, to joining forces through our Kōkua Initiative to give back locally, you'll be seeing much more of Coco–stay tuned!

We're so stoked to welcome her to the Waiākea Ohana! To keep up with her rad adventures, follow her on Instagram here.
