The famous African proverb "It takes a village to raise a child" is rooted in the belief that it takes a community to help children grow and thrive. We're grateful for all our customers and partners, who support Waiākea, which helps us to do more and more at home and beyond through the work our Kōkua Initiative and partnership with Pump Aid.
Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to spread some extra special love back home in Hilo with the help of Waiākea Ambassador Taylor Rapp.
Rapp, a professional football player who plays Safety for the defending Super Bowl Champion LA Rams, memorably proposed to his fiancé after the Rams took home the NFL championship earlier this year. He worked together with our Kōkua Initiative to purchase and donate new jerseys to the Waiākea High Warriors Football Program, with JUNK Brands donating custom headbands to the team as well.
Rapp, who is currently in training camp prepping for the NFL Season, also signed footballs and recorded a personal message, which was shared with members of the Waiākea High team.
Mahalo Taylor and JUNK Brand for collaborating with us in this one-of-a-kind experience for the youth at Waiākea High!
