Hollywood's Favorite Water

We couldn't be more stoked to share that over the last couple of years Waiakea has been spotted in some pretty big TV shows and movies! Very little compares to the feeling of having a friend text you with a screenshot of Waiakea in the hands of a famous actor in a Netflix Original or HBO series... Cue crazy-person victory dance with intermittent yelling of "I think we're famous?!?!".

Below are a few of our favorite shows that drink Waiakea!

Hilarity For Charity

Our most recent spotting was in Hilarity for Charity. Seth Rogan and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, founded Hilarity for Charity (HFC) back in 2012. Their goal was to create a resource for the millennial generation to bring awareness to Alzheimer's disease.

"Today, HFC is dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring change, and accelerating progress in Alzheimer’s care, research, and support through the engagement of millennials."

Through Hilarity for Charity, money is raised to support families struggling with Alzheimer's care, grow support groups nationwide, and fund innovative research. Since 2012, Hilarity for Charity has raised over $7 million dollars!

It was such an honor to be a part of an amazing cause like this! If you haven't checked it out already, it's live on Netflix now! Keep an eye out for Waiakea bottles on stage-- we made sure to keep everyone hydrated.

Barry

HBO-exclusive comedy, Barry, stars Bill Hader who plays Barry, a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest. In an effort to change things up, he travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. However, he finds sanctuary in a group of aspiring actors in the LA theatre scene. After deciding to pivot his career and pursue acting, he struggles trying to leave his criminal past behind.

Critics are saying Barry is, "incredibly well-made, with tonal twists and turns that will have you laughing and emotionally moved in equal measure." Have you watched it yet? Waiakea made the cut and you can spot us at the end of episode 3!

Transparent

Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning show, Transparent, tells the story of a dysfunctional LA family who's elderly father comes out as transgender, transitioning from Mort to Maura. The series follows the Pfefferman family as secrets are exposed and three adult children get to know their father in a new light. It's definitely not a cookie-cutter series about a normal family...But what defines "normal" anyways, right?

Silicon Valley

This next show will definitely strike a cord with all of our tech-savvy members of the Waiakea Ohana! Silicon Valley, a show about 5 techies living in tech capital of the country, Silicon Valley. Just renewed for its sixth season, Silicon Valley, is a satirical show about a programmer trying to get his company, Pied Piper, off the ground in the most competitive environment. Waiakea makes a few cameos throughout season 5, so keep your eyes peeled!

Superstore

NBC sitcom, Superstore, is a show about an oddball group of employees at megastore, Cloud 9. They take on the "everyday" tasks of dealing with rabid bargain hunters, stempede-causing sales, and the awkwardness of workplace politics. We like to think of it as The Office meets Walmart. Just like any superstore, Cloud 9 sells water, right? That's where Waiakea comes in! Watch the earlier seasons and try to spot Waiakea on the shelves of Cloud 9.

Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce

Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce stars Lisa Edelstein, Beau Garrett, and Necar Zadegan to name a few! Lisa Edelstein plays Abby McCarthy, a self-help author, who announces to her readers that her and her husband are getting divorced. Finding comfort in new friends and adventures, she tries to get acclimated to the unknown of being single in her 40's. It was so cool to be a part of Bravo's first scripted original series!
