While they say that what is coming is better than what has gone, we had a pretty rad year over here at Waiakea. Before we formally welcome 2017, let’s reflect on and celebrate some of 2016’s highlights:
Extending Our Ohana
Waiakea proudly welcomed skater Tyson Peterson and surfers Honolua Blomfield and Justin Kalani Burbag, among 40 other ambassadors, to our beloved ohana.
Find Us in Stores
You can now find Waiakea at Whole Foods, Wawa, and Natural Grocers across the US. Can’t find Waiakea in a market near you? We’ve got your back! This year we introduced online subscriptions that allow you to save up to 20% with delivery plans.
Clean Water For All
Through our partnership with Pump Aid, Waiakea has donated over 1 BILLION liters of clean water to date. Our efforts helped to install two new elephant pumps in the villages of Kamganga and Disimasi, Malawi. The clean water we help provide not only saves lives but also fosters economic growth and education in some of the poorest communities on earth.
Spreading Aloha
Over the summer, Waiakea held a Snapchat scavenger hunt whose lucky winner got to #LiveAloha with a trip to the Big Island and a four night’s stay at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.
And, we just wrapped up our Follow Your Flow giveaway, sending one special yogini to Wanderlust Oahu!
Wear Your Waiakea
2016 marked the launch of our apparel line so you can now rep your love for Waiakea even when you’re not drinking water! Sticking with the Waiakea motto of ‘healthy, sustainable, ethical,’ we teamed up with Eden Projects to plant five trees in reforestation efforts with the purchase of each Waiakea apparel item.
Azad-Al Barazi At The Rio Olympics
Azad-Al Barazi, member of the Waiakea ohana, swam the 100-meter breaststroke for Syria this year in Rio. Congrats, Azad!
Office Game Going Strong
The Waiakea office underwent some renovations this year, making it a collaborative and warm work environment for our team.
…..and so much more! Mahalo for being a part of our 2016. Your continued support is everything.
Here’s to a happy and healthy 2017.
