When not competing professionally in Rugby, US Men's National Team Member and Hawai'i native Psalm Wooching likes to come back home to the Big Island.
Describing rugby as his first love, the former football player for the Washington Huskies passed on the opportunity to play in the National Football League to pursue his passion, which has taken him to play pro leagues around the globe.
Not one to rest in the off-season, the Kealakehe High grad likes to focus on another of his passions - conservation.
Earlier this month, our Kōkua Initiative partnered with Psalm on a beach clean up out in the Kona side of the Big Island, where he was born and raised. We were stoked to have kept Psalm and his team hydrated and are even happier to see local people return to help take care of the islands and our people here home!
