May Day is Lei Day in Hawai'i!
May 1st is a celebration of the Aloha Spirit and gifting of the Flower Lei. We strive to Live Aloha here at Waiākea and it is one of our core values. Like all Hawaiian words, there is a deeper meaning to the Aloha:
- ALO: The Presence of
- HA: The Breath of Life
Much like the closed loop of a lei, everything we do with the Spirit of Aloha honors those of today, our kupuna and edlders of the past, and the future generations who have yet to come.
