Waiākea Hawaiian Volcanic Beverages is running it back with ambassador and pro surfer Ēwe Wong on a campaign to promote ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i!
"My goal has always been to connect the two and encourage the use of Hawaiian language in the ocean." Ēwe shared when she created this with Waiakea this past year.
An O‘ahu Native, Ēwe experienced full Hawaiian immersion education from Pūnana Leo to Ke Kula ʻo Samuel Mānaiakalani Kamakau, learning ʻōlelo and surf at the same time. In 2022, she captured Gold at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships and has since gone on to star in Amazon Prime's Surf Girls Hawai‘i and Surf Girls International as she continues with her professional surfing journey.
This past year, Ēwe launched the first ever Digital Hoʻokūkū Heʻe nalu ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi Surf Contest). The contest returns with a few changes, additional supporters and more prizes!
