Time is one of the most powerful gifts we have. How we use it, who we invest it in, and the legacy we choose to build with it ultimately shapes the world we live in. When I founded Hour Generation Foundation (HGF), it came from a simple but unwavering belief: one hour can change a young person’s life. One hour of mentoring. One hour of tutoring. One hour spent reminding a student that they matter, that their dreams are valid, and that their future is worth fighting for.
Over the years, I’ve seen that belief come to life in ways I never could have imagined. Today, our students in Portland, OR and the Washington, D.C. metro area are proving it true every single day. They are growing, exploring, dreaming, and discovering who they can be when given the time, space, and support to fully step into their potential.
Because of HGF’s programs, from academic tutoring to college tours, from etiquette workshops to aviation lessons, from hands-on STEM activities to career exposure — young people are gaining the confidence to see beyond their current circumstances. They’re imagining futures they didn’t know existed. They’re walking into rooms with their heads held higher. They’re daring to believe they belong in places they once thought were out of reach. And more importantly, they’re beginning to understand that their success is not accidental, it is earned, nurtured, and deserved.
This Giving Tuesday, I’m asking for your support to help us reach even more young people who are waiting for that hour, that moment, that could change everything.
